Uses for Blue Fuel™

Blue Fuel™ is truly the multi-purposes fuel for today, with compelling applications in the power generation, transportation, and heating and cooking fields.

Iceland moves to end fossil fuel dependency

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) and Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) have concluded an agreement with the Icelandic government under which the two companies will contribute to Iceland's energy policy currently being promoted with a view to ending the country's dependence on fossil fuels. Specifically, the two companies will provide technological support to Iceland's quest to be a pioneering country in clean energy (achieving zero percent hydrocarbon fuel emissions). As the first step of this initiative, MHI and MC will cooperate in the establishment of an infrastructure for verification testing of a new generation, zero-emissions electric vehicles (EV). Another component of the vision is to produce Blue Fuel™ to replace diesel in Iceland's 2000-vessel fishing fleet—using geothermal-generated electricity to conduct electrolysis of water to produce hydrogen. The other Blue Fuel™ feedstock, waste CO2, will be captured from aluminum smelters (three presently in operation and another three in the planning phase) and geothermal plants. This approach to Blue Fuel™ production mirrors that of Blue Fuel Energy's. It also highlights how Blue Fuel™ can serve as an economical, ultra-clean fuel for diesel-powered vessels.
