CANADA BLUE FUEL

Canada

In the late 1990s the Canadian government initiated research into the use of Blue Fuel™ as an alternative to diesel, efforts based largely on concerns about the capability of diesel to meet upcoming emissions regulations. Although a few subsequent studies were done, Canada has been a minor player in the DME world, at least until recently. In December 2005 Blue Fuel™ Energy was launched to take advantage of the abundance of Blue Fuel™ feedstocks in northeastern British Columbia, such as wind, hydro, water, and waste carbon dioxide, to produce Blue Fuel™ on a large scale. BC Wind Power Corporation (bcwind.com) was formed to provide wind-generated electricity for Blue Fuel™ Energy, which plans to be one of the first companies in the world to use renewable sources of energy to produce Blue Fuel™ through electrolysis.
